Brief Xavier Rubert de Ventós is Full Professor of Aesthetics at the University of Barcelona. He has also taught at the Universities of Berkeley, Harvard and New York, where he founded the Barcelona – New York program in Catalan Studies and the New York Institute for the Humanities. He has been member of the Spanish Parliament and the European Parliament. His work on Philosophy and Aesthetics is extensive (El arte ensimismado; Teoría de la Sensibilidad; Por qué filosofía; Crítica de la Modernidad), as are his writings on politics or cultural analysis (Ética sin atributos, El laberinto de la hispanidad, Nacionalismos).
